Level-two Field Hospital Rotation 3 formed

The Level-two Field Hospital (L2FH) Rotation 3 was unveiled at a ceremony held by the Ministry of National Defense on March 4 at Military Hospital 175.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh,  Head of the Ministry of National Defense’s Steering Committee for Vietnam’s participation in United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics; and Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, among others.

At the event, General Vinh handed over the defense ministry’s establishment decision and assigned missions to personnel of L2FH Rotation 3. In his speech, General Vinh highly valued the active preparations of relevant units for the establishment of Vietnam’s L2FH Rotation 3, particularly on personnel selection and training. 

In addition, he urged the leadership of Military Hospital 175 and the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operation (VPKO) to continue working together in preparation for the field hospital so as to meet the requirements of the UN and to make it ready for the replacement of L2FH Rotation 2 in South Sudan.

On the other hand, the deputy defense minister expressed his thanks to foreign countries and international partners for their support in the establishment and deployment of Vietnam’s peacekeeping forces.

The same day, General Vinh chaired a meeting of the inter-sector working group under the Ministry of National Defense’s Steering Committee for Vietnam’s participation in UN peacekeeping operations. 

The meeting was held to review L2FH Rotation 2’s task performance and L2FH Rotation 3’s preparations over the past time. As scheduled, Military Hospital 175 and the VPKO will collaborate together to provide more training for L2FH Rotation 3’s personnel in the time to come.
