Minister To Lam meets with voters in Bac Ninh

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security and member of the National Assembly (NA) Delegation of Bac Ninh province had a meeting with voters in Que Vo district on June 19.

The event also saw the presence of Ms. Tran Thi Hang, Vice Head of the NA Delegation of Bac Ninh; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee of Bac Ninh.

At the meeting, representatives from the provincial NA delegation briefed voters on the outcomes of the 14th NA’s fifth session, during which deputies voted to pass 7 draft laws, 8 resolutions and discussed 9 important draft laws (including 3 draft laws built by the Ministry of Public Security).

At the meeting, the voters highly valued the innovation of the question-answer section,  which had been conducted in a practical and effective manner. This has marked the transformation from presentation to debate at the NA, and met the expectation of voters.

Local voters highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the provincial NA delegation during the recent sitting. They also raised their concern over critical problems in their localities, such as domestic waste; environmental pollution caused by untreated discharges from industrial parks into rivers and canals, and projects to build garbage collection zones to ensure rural environmental sanitation.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Lam informed voters that the NA has passed the Law on Cyber Security to meet the requirements of the tasks of protecting national security and social order and safety in the new situation.

Regarding the draft amendment to the Law on the Public Security Forces with a focus on streamlining the apparatus for more efficient and effective operation of the MPS, and the draft amendment to the Law on Amnesty, the MPS clarified some questioned contents listening to constructive opinions of the NA's deputies and voters to finalize the legal projects.

Minister Lam also briefed the voters on the situations of security and order and other issues of concern of the voters. He also hoped to receive more constructive ideas and opinions from the voters to better serve his role as a NA deputy.
