Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan landed at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana on October 16 afternoon, beginning her three-day official visit to Kazakhstan.
Prominent guests welcoming the Vietnamese top legislator at the airport included Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Doan Thi Xuan Hien, Vice Chairman of the Mazhilis (Lower House) of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Bojko Vladimir Karpovich along with Vietnamese Embassy staff in Kazkhastan, among others.
This is the first-ever visit to Kazakhstan by a Vietnamese NA leader aiming to foster the bilateral partnership in economics, trade, investment, energy and culture-education.
The visit is being made at the invitation of Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Kassym Zhomart Tokayev and Chairman of the Mazhilis (Lower House) of the Parliament Nurlan Nigmatulin.
The visit is taking place at a time when both nations are celebrating 25 years of diplomatic relations, providing the impetus towards strengthening traditional friendship, cooperation, and exchange of information and experience in parliament-related activities between the two legislative bodies.
Vietnam-Kazakhstan relations have seen constant developments. Both sides have cooperated in multiple fields and have always given each other mutual support for the cause of construction and development in their respective nation as agreed by senior leaders.
Immediately after her arrival in Kazakhstan, the NA leader visited the Vietnam Embassy in Kazakhstan.
