Law makers also discussed direction for next year and a national financial-budget plan until 2020.They suggested the government improve the investment climate, boost administrative reform, and focus on public investment in key projects.

Deputy Le Cong Nhuong from northern Binh Dinh province said, “I want to add one more to the government’s seven solutions for socio-economic development in 2018: applying information technology in state management in industry, agriculture, and services to improve the quality and productivity of Vietnam’s economy”.
NA deputies proposed greater IT application in production and business and fully tapping the potential of the logistic service, which can help bolster Vietnam’s rapid, sustainable development and economic competitiveness.
Deputy Nguyen Quoc Binh of Hanoi said, “Logistics must be a spearhead sector in Vietnam. We should identify the location of online ports so that ships can reach their international destinations without transfers. In the mean time, we need measures to efficiently exploit the existing deep-water ports and make the North-South railway the backbone of the domestic logistic system. We also need a plan to build international logistic centers in Vietnam”.
Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh responded to deputies’ concerns.
“The Ministry is working to finalize coordinated preferential policies in credit, technology transfer, and personnel training. We aim to join big chains involving big markets to ensure stable outlets for Vietnamese products. We also plan to build garment and textile centers to meet increasing demand for integration and make full use of Vietnam’s free trade agreements," he said.
Minister Anh pledged combined efforts to fight trafficking and trade frauds and address 12 pending projects by 2020.
Later on, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong held a Q&A session with law-makers.
