NAM summit called for the settlement of all disputes in the East Sea by peaceful means

The conference adopted the final document of NAM, outlined commons stance on global issues which highlight multilateralism, underline the role of international law including basic principles of respecting countries sovereignty, non-interference in other coutries’ internal affairs; peacefully addressing disputes.

NAM member implused the disarm, especially nuclear weapon; reiterated the resolve to fight terrorism; voiced support for the current process of UN reform which match the interests of the developing countries, the cooperation to cope with the economic and financial crisis; stressed the demand of ODA by developing countries.

According to the movement, the requirements of implementing of the Paris Agreement on climate change should base on the principles of equality, commonly responsibility while also taking into countries’ differences. The movemenet called the developed coutries took step to make the commitment to mobilize 100 billion USD before 2020, affirmed the importance of overall management and sustainable use of water resources…

The document appreciated the efforts of ASEAN to uphold the central role in region structure, speed up the relationship with the United Nations.  

NAM summit also called upon all countries concenrned to settle the sovereignty and territorial disputes by peaceful means, without using or threatening to use violence, exercise self-restraint, fully respect the Declaration on the Conduct of parties on the East Sea (DOC), United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea in 1982 (UNCLOS), protect the freedom of maritime and aviation in accordance with international law, expedite the completion of the Code of Conduct in East Sea (COC).
