Official reception for Singaporean Prime Minister held in Hanoi

• Singapore-Vietnam ties elevated to new heights
• Singaporean PM’s visit expected to strengthen strategic partnership
• Vietnamese students hold art show in Singapore

This has been the 3rd visit, following the 2010 and 2013 visits, by Mr. Lee Hsien Loong to Vietnam in his capacity as the Singaporean Prime Minister. In September 2013, the Singaporean PM paid a visit to Vietnam on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore. In the same year, the two countries issued the Joint Statement on the establishment of the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Partnership.

After the official reception, the two PMs to hold talks and to witness the signing of various cooperation documents.

The two PMs are also expected to take the chance to exchange orientations, strategies and measures to tighten the bilateral ties.

The visit by PM Lee Hsien Loong takes place at a time when the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Partnership sees rapid and intensive developments.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the reception for his Singaporean counterpart.
