On May 9, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc extended a congratulatory message to Dmitry Medvedev on his re-appointment as Prime Minister of Russia.
Earlier on May 8, the State Duma, the lower house of parliament, approved Dmitry Medvedev's nomination as Prime Minister of Russia with 374 votes in favour and 56 against. President Vladimir Putin, who was sworn in for a new six-year term in the Kremlin on May 7, had put forward Medvedev to be prime minister.
Mr Medvedev, 52, had been chosen by Putin to be Russia’s president for the 2008-2012 term when he was not widely known. Since then, Medvedev has always been a loyal friend and an associate of Putin. After his presidential term, he became Prime Minister of Russia and remained in the position until now.VOV
