Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has wished the Military Zone 5's armed forces a new year of prosperity and happiness with a great deal of achievements, worthy of the heroic tradition of the Military Region.

On February 11, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid a working visit to the Military Zone 5’s Command ahead of the traditional lunar New Year festival (Tet).

The government leader called for greater coordination with local authorities in accomplishing tasks while urging the armed forces to be closer to the people, help them cope with natural disasters, and build the militia forces.

Prime Minister Phuc asked for better care of officers and soldiers in remote areas during Lunar New Year holiday.

“I am very glad that you have organized programs for soldiers, particularly those in disadvantaged areas. Today is the 26th day of the last lunar month, once again I would like to extend my Tet wishes to commanders and all the others to enjoy a happy new year and fulfill tasks assigned by the Party and the Army," he said.

PM Phuc urged the leaders of the Military Zone 5 to ensure all officers and soldiers will continue staying alert amid the complicated and unpredictable developments of socio-political and security situation in the region and the world.

The zone should go ahead with the building of the people-based national defence, through keeping close connection with local communities and become more involved in the local economic development process.

The same day, PM Phuc also visited doctors at Hospital C under the Ministry of Health and delivered Tet gifts to patients at the hospital.
