PM Phuc underscores ensuring retired female workers’ interests

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized protecting retired female workers’ interests at a December 4 meeting with voters in the northern port city of Hai Phong.

He agreed with local voters about land accumulation for more investment in high-tech and organic agriculture, stating that he propose the National Assembly revise legislation, making it conformable to the country’s agricultural development.

The cabinet leader affirmed the Government’s resolve to settle problems of voter concern, further boost economic development and ensure social welfare and applauded socio-economic achievements so far this year with the remarkably reduced number of poor households and strengthened defence and security.

Exports has grew by 21%, rising to US$200 billion, US$2.8 billion in trade surplus and more than US$47 billion in foreign currency reserve in the 11-month period.

It is worth noting that 120,000 new enterprises have been set up so far, while roughly US$33 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) have injected into the country for the first time, Phuc said.

The government leader also hailed the successful hosting of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 and related meetings in Da Nang.

At the meeting, Phuc also responded to questions about the Government’s management in 2018 to ensure sustainable growth and complete the 2015-2020 plan, drastic measures to prevent and combat corruption and wastefulness, solutions to develop high technology agriculture, cooperation in exploiting maritime resources, and the need to abide by international law in fishing activities.
