PM urges Hanoi to drastically handle wrongdoings in land use and management

PSNews - Minister and Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung has conveyed a request from Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee to well carry out 9 tasks, including handling wrongdoings in land use and strengthening its officials’ observance of working regulations. 

A governmental working mission led by Minister and Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung on November 22 worked with the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee to inspect its implementation of the tasks assigned by the Government and the Prime Minister.

Since the beginning of 2017, Hanoi has received 2,594 documents issued by the Government, the Prime Minister and the Government Office on assigned tasks. Hanoi has completed 1,980 tasks (account for 76.3%) and it is carrying 614 tasks while 7 remain uncompleted.

Speaking at the working session, Minister Dung said that PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciated the efforts made by Hanoi city in resolving 9 critical issues. The PM considered Hanoi as a leading city in streamlining and rearranging its apparatus. The planning and construction of urban infrastructure achieved good results, positively changing the face of the city’s transportation infrastructure.

The city also enjoyed high growth and entered the list of the world’s most dynamic cities. 

However, the PM asked Hanoi to step up the progress of equitisation and divestment of state-owned enterprises. Regarding the urban planning, Hanoi should take more care of its synchronicity and overview and urbanization space while making urban plans. The cities should also consider building a smart traffic system.

The PM also urged Hanoi to continue to reform administrative procedures while promoting the application of information technology. The city strengthen the observance of discipline and regulations in civil services and resolutely handle wrongdoings in land management and use, intensify inspection and strictly penalize offences related to environment and fire and explosion.
