The freshly-concluded visit to Laos by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong has contributed to strengthening the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, said a senior Lao official.
Sounthone Sayachak, head of the Lao Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, highlighted outstanding attainments of the visit during an inclusive interview to Vietnam News Agency correspondents. She said the visit is a success.

At talks and meetings between Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Lao leaders, the two sides discussed how to continue increasing the special solidarity between the two countries.
The two sides signed seven cooperative documents and issued a nine-point joint statement, focusing on continuing to develop the Laos-Vietnam ties in an effective manner and bring benefits to both countries’ people.
During the three-day visit, the Party chief visited and delivered a speech to lecturers and students of the Laos National University, which was broadcast live both on Lao and Vietnamese national televisions for the first time, the Lao official said.
In his speech, he always emphasised the solidarity, friendship between the two countries, she added.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong left Vientiane on November 26, concluding his official three-day visit to Laos at the invitation of General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Volachith.VNA
