Party leader Trong to visit China

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will pay an official visit to China from January 12-15 at the invitation of Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, said the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations on January 8.

The visit is made ahead of celebrations of the 67th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties and Lunar New Year festivals in both countries.

This will be Trong’s first visit to China after the 12th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
The visit is aimed at developing a sound relationship between the two countries for mutual benefit and for peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
