Party leader voices support for Lao’s reform

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has expressed Vietnam’s support for Laos’ reform, construction, and development during his reception on Tuesday for Laotian Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith who is in Hanoi for regional summits.
The Party chief urged the Lao leader to continue to work closely with Vietnam to implement the signed agreements, including the cooperative deal between the two governments for the 2016-2020 period and cooperative plan for 2016.

He underlined the need to focus on sharing experience in Party building and socio-economic management, and cooperation in defense, security, and foreign affairs.
Party leader Trong also congratulated Laos on having accomplished its ASEAN Chairmanship in 2016, saying this raised the country’s regional and international profile.
The Vietnamese and Lao leaders pledged to nurture the special solidarity between the two peoples for the future generations.
