Party official hosts Cambodia’s youth federation delegates

The Party, State and people of Vietnam always attribute importance to developing ties with Cambodia, considering this a priority in the country’s foreign policy, said Vo Van Thuong, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education.

At a reception for a delegation from the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) led by President Hun Many in Hanoi on August 29, Thuong asked the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) and UYFC to augment their cooperation with a focus on educating young people on the history and friendship of the two nations.

He congratulated Cambodia on the successful organization of its parliamentary elections in July, and the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) on its victory in the elections and showed hope that the party will continue to obtain even greater achievements in the time to come.

Thuong also called on the two sides further foster their cooperation in education, science-technology and sports and spoke of his belief that Hun Many’s visit will contribute to reinforcing the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, and especially their younger generations.

In reply, the Cambodian guest offered his greetings to the Vietnamese Party, State, and people on the 73rd anniversary of its National Day (September 2). 

He said the UYFC will continue its close coordination with the VYF to positively contribute to good neighbourliness, time-honoured friendship, and comprehensive, sustainable, and long-term cooperation between the two nations.
