Russian Pacific Fleet warships arrive at Vietnam’s Cam Ranh port on a courtesy visit

PSNews – The Russian Pacific Fleet’s warships comprising destroyers Admiral Tributs and Admiral Vinogradov and sea tanker Pechenga arrived in Cam Ranh International Port of south central Khanh Hoa province on June 3, starting a four-day visit to Vietnam.

A welcome ceremony was held at the port for the crew of the three ships with the present of representatives of the Vietnam People's Navy, relevant agencies of the Ministry of Defense and the Khanh Hoa Provincial Foreign Affairs Department.

The visit is one of activities to realize the agreements reached by the two countries’ ministries of defense, contributing to intensifying the Vietnam-Russia traditional friendship and boosting bilateral defense cooperation, including cooperation between the two navies.

During the visit, the Russian officers of the ships are expected to pay courtesy visits to leaders of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People Committee and the Naval Region 4 High Command; to lay wreaths at the monument to fallen soldiers of the former Soviet Union, Russia and Vietnam who sacrificed themselves for peace and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, crew members of the Russian ships will also join sports exchanges with Vietnamese troops of the Naval Region 4 High Command.
