Second Level-2 Field Hospital ordered to depart for South Sudan

The Ministry of National Defense on November 13 held a send-off ceremony for the second Level-2 Field Hospital which will participate in the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Colonel Nguyen Nhu Canh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operation said that, 63 members of the second Level-2 Field Hospital have been trained under the UN standards. Many of them have taken peacekeeping training courses in other countries.

At the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of Defense handed over the President’s Decision and National Flag to the second Level-2 Filed Hospital.

He also urged all members to stay united, overcome difficulties and successfully fulfill all tasks assigned by Vietnam and the UN.

The Vietnamese peacekeepers should always comply with the UN’s rules and regulations, as well as the local laws and the discipline of the Vietnam People’s Army. They should also ensure absolute safety when performing tasks.

On behalf of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army ordered the Level-2 Field Hospital No.2 to depart for the peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.

On behalf of the 63 members of the Level-2 Field Hospital No.2, Director Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Hien affirmed that all officers of the field hospital have strong political will, competent professional expertise, skills and knowledge as well as command of foreign language and good knowledge of UN peacekeeping operations.
