Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on July 25 presented gifts to national revolutionary contributors and heroic Vietnamese mothers in observance of 70 years of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

During his visit to a nursing center for national contributors in Hanoi, the Party leader highlighted the Party and State’s special attention and care for those who rendered great services to the nation.

He asked the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to implement more practical activities to pay tribute to war invalids, martyrs, and national contributors nationwide. 1.4 million national contributors and relatives of war martyrs and invalids receive monthly allowances.

At a meeting in Thanh Hoa province the same day to honor those who have rendered services to the nation, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh said, “We need to ensure preferential treatment for revolutionary contributors. It’s necessary to raise awareness in the younger generation of their predecessors’ merits in national construction and defense”.

Earlier on July 24 , Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam visited and presented gifts to national revolutionary contributors in the Central Highland province of Kon Tum to mark the 70th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
