The State President expressed his thanks to Bulgaria for their support to Vietnam in the past several years, especially in training thousands of undergraduate and graduate graduates, contributing to promoting the ties of the two countries. State President Quang asked the two sides to encourage training institutions to set up direct cooperation, increase the number of annual scholarships in undergraduate and postgraduate programs to each other.
The Vietnamese State President proposed that Bulgaria as the rotational Chair of the EU from January 2018 support Vietnam to strengthen its relations with the EU, promote the early ratification and signing of the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
The President stressed that Vietnam is willing to be a bridge and to support Bulgaria and the EU to strengthen their relations with the ASEAN and its member countries. The Vietnamese State President expressed his hope that, with his experience and knowledge of Vietnam, the Ambassador will continue to cultivate the good friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria.
Ambassador Evgueni Stefanov Stoytchev said that Bulgaria and Vietnam have always enjoyed good relationship and cooperation, especially in politics with regular exchange of delegations at all levels. The Ambassador said that during his term of office in Vietnam, he always received support from the Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam, which has helped him successfully fulfill his mission in the country.
The Ambassador believed that the fine outcomes of the bilateral political relations will serve as a foundation for the two countries to boost cooperation in the field of economics and investment.
The Ambassador said that as Bulgaria will take the rotating presidency of the European Union from the beginning of 2018, the country will elicit the early signing of the Vietnam-EU free trade agreement, under which Vietnam could create new developments in the field of economics and trade.
The Ambassador said that Bulgaria is expecting to welcome the State President to Bulgaria to promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries in politics, diplomacy and economy.
The Ambassador promised that after returning to Bulgaria, he will always contribute to strengthening relations and cooperation between Bulgaria and Vietnam.
