During the phone conversation, the Czech Prime Minister was appreciative of the ties of friendship and time-honoured relations between the two countries, and the remarkable progress in bilateral ties over the past time.

He applauded Vietnam's efforts while hoping that both nations will intensify information sharing and augment cooperation in the COVID-19 fight.

PM Phuc described the COVID-19 epidemic as a common challenge for all nations across the globe at present and assured Vietnam’s readiness to cooperate with the Czech Republic and all partners to combat the epidemic. No single nation is able to take actions alone in order to overcome this global health crisis, the Vietnamese cabinet leader noted.

The Government chief expressed his thanks and appreciation for the support given by the Czech Government and their people to the Vietnamese community in the country of residence in recent years. He suggested the Czech Government continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to stabilize their lives and ensure necessary conditions for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control.

Vietnam stays ready to cooperate with the Czech Republic in all aspects so that both sides can overcome the current difficult period, Phuc said, adding that he will direct ministries and competent agencies to facilitate bringing Czech citizens home in the near future.

Vietnam thanks the Government, the Parliament and the people of the Czech Republic for supporting the development of comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and the EU, especially for accelerating the European Parliament (EP) adoption of the Europe-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Czech Parliament’s recent approval for the trade deal, Phuc said.

He invited the Czech Prime Minister to pay an official visit to Vietnam on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

The invitation was graciously accepted by the Czech PM who voiced his hope to make the visit to Vietnam soon.
