Vietnam Embassy hosts banquet for US diplomats

Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh on March 1 hosted a banquet for Susan Thornton, Acting Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
The event also saw the attendance of Deputy Assistant Secretary Patrick Murphy.

Ambassador Vinh and his guests praised the achievements in Vietnam-US relations in 2017 with the US visit by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in May and President Donald Trump’s Vietnam visit in November.
Ms. Thornton said the US treasures cooperation and partnership with Vietnam bilaterally and with regards to global issues of mutual concern.
Both diplomats consented to elevate the two countries’ relations in 2018, implement high-level agreements, and further boost their comprehensive partnership.
