Vietnam and EU accelerate the signing of EVFTA

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security on July 27, had a meeting with Bernd Lange, Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade (INTA).

An overview of the reception 

Minister To Lam welcomed Mr. Lange to Vietnam and expressed delight at the fine relations between Vietnam and the EU in the past time, particularly in trade and investment. He also spoke highly of the supports of the EP and Mr. Lange in promoting the signing of the European Union-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

The Vietnamese Minister said that Vietnam had developed the trade ties and negotiated FTAs with various countries in the world. Vietnam is also among the countries fostering the establishment of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Minister Lam emphasized that the MPS of Vietnam would support and create favorable conditions for the two sides to soon sign the EVFTA. He affirmed that the MPS of Vietnam is willing to promote cooperation with the EU in all fields of mutual concern.

Mr. Bernd Lange thanked Minister Lam for his kind reception and highly appreciated the economic achievements of Vietnam. He believed that the fine bilateral cooperation would promote and contribute to the signing of the EVFTA.
