Vietnam may need an assistance package on social security: PM
“Given the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, we should consider a national assistance package on social security which is practically significant for workers,” PM Phuc said during a meeting held in Hanoi aimed at reviewing the implementation of the Party Central Committee’s resolution on social policy for the 2012 to 2020 period.

“It would be a mistake if we cannot do this (implement an assistance package) through the national fiscal policy and other means,” he stressed.
The PM stated that all resources should be pooled together in an effort to combat the epidemic effectively, with the primary focus being on supporting businesses along with helping laid-off workers and those in special circumstances, so as to ensure social security.
With regards to the application of Industry 4.0 technology on daily life, the government leader noted the need to effectively train and utilise the country’s highly-skilled human resources, while developing the labour market in a healthy, synchronised, and modern manner.
In addition, more efforts are to be made in order to develop a flexible social insurance system that features a variety of services, including voluntary social insurances for the agriculture and informal economic sector.
