PSNews - The live-fire drills of China in the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago have seriously violated Vietnam’s sovereignty over this archipelago and threatens peace and stability in the region and the East Sea (South China Sea).

Spokeswoman of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang made that statement on September 5 when making objection to the Chinese live-fire drills in the Hoang Sa archipelago of Vietnam.

She said, “Vietnam strongly condemns this action by China and seriously requests China to respect Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago and not to repeat similar actions or threaten peace and stability in the region and in the East Sea.

Vietnam once again asserts that the country will resolutely protect its sovereignty and legitimate rights and interests in the East Sea through peaceful measures in line with international law, including the UN Charter and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982.”
