Vietnam ready to host ASOSAI Assembly
The preparation for the 14th Assembly of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) this September has been basically completed, announced the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV).

The SAV is set to host the 14th Assembly of the ASOSAI in Hanoi from September 19 to 22. The event, in its first time taking place in Vietnam, will run under the theme of “Environmental Audit for Sustainable Development”.
SAV Auditor General Ho Duc Phoc has chaired a meeting to carry out a final examination of the preparation and review a master plan for hosting the event.
Accordingly, the agenda of the 14th ASOSAI Assembly as well as logistics works in assistance of vote casting, security, delegates’ reception and travel, among others, have been done, with sidelines events slated for September 16 – 24.
The assembly is expected to welcome 250 delegates from 46 supreme audit institutions (SAIs) in Asia, ASOSAI representatives and international observers. About 350 domestic guests from Party and Government agencies, socio-political organisations, universities, institutions, and foreign embassies in Vietnam will also attend the event.
The function will decide on key matter of the ASOSAI and the issuance of its documents and policies needed for the fulfillment of its goals.
A Hanoi Declaration will be issued, reviewing the most important working results and highlighting ASOSAI’s commitments to development goals for the 2016-2021 period.
As the host of the event, the SAV will become ASOSAI Chair for 2018-2021.
Established in 1979 with 11 members, ASOSAI now has a total of 46 SAIs. The SAV became an ASOSAI member in 1997. The ASOSAI Assembly is held every three years.
