Vietnam's National Day celebrated worldwide

Vietnamese diplomatic missions in many countries worldwide organized various events to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution Day (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

Netherlands

The Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands held a ceremony in La Hay city on September 1 to celebrate the National Day. Ambassador Ngo Thi Hoa affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State always attach great importance to developing the strategic partnership with the Netherlands.

Greece

Nearly 400 Greek guests celebrated the 72 National Day of Vietnam (September 2nd) during a ceremony held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece. 
During the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece Tran Thi Ha Phuong reviewed the great achievements Vietnamese people have gained over the past 72 years, stressing that Vietnam always heightened peace, national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and showing her pride that Vietnam had passed every challenge of the country.

South Africa

The Vietnamese Embassy in South Africa held a ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, with the participation of representatives from the South African Foreign Ministry; Ambassador Bene M'Poko, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in South Africa; and over 400 invitees, together with overseas Vietnamese living, studying and working in South Africa.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to South Africa Vu Van Dung recalled the country’s historical milestone when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square 72 years ago, officially giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The Vietnamese Ambassador underlined that the Vietnamese Party and Government always cherish their comprehensive partnership with South Africa, expressing the hope that the two countries will further their effective cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, education, security and defence and environmental protection.

Japan

A similar event was held in Japan’s capital of Tokyo with the participation of over 400 people.

Laos
Officials of the External Affairs Commission of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee visited the Vietnam Embassy in Vientiane on September 1 to extend congratulations on the 72nd National Day of Vietnam.
Australia
A ceremony was held in Canberra, Australia, on September 1 by the Vietnamese Embassy to celebrate Vietnam’s 72th National Day.
Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam took the occasion to express his appreciation for the support of governments, peoples, and organisations all over the world for Vietnam’s past struggle for national liberation and in the country’s current national-building and development cause.
Pakistan
Ambassador of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Luu  hosted a warm reception in Pakistan to celebrate the 72nd Anniversary of the National Day of Republic of Vietnam at a local hotel. Large number of guests including diplomats, former diplomats of Pakistan and senior government functionaries as well as prominent people from various segments of the society attended the reception.
Cameroon
The Vietnamese Embassy in Cameroon held a banquet on August 31 to celebrate National Day.
Kazakhstan
Vietnam’s National Day was marked at the Expo 2017 Astana, in the capital of Kazakhstan on August 29, featuring folk music performances that attracted a large audience. The event took place in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945) and the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-Kazakhstan diplomatic ties.
Korea
The glamour of Vietnamese Ao dai (traditional long dress) was brought closer to our international friends through a stellar show jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea and the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) on August 30. The event is part of the art exhibitions and performances which are underway at the KOFICE’s headquarters to mark the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day and the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
