Vietnam seeks to boost ties with US partners

Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States (US), Pham Quang Vinh, discussed the measures required to strengthen the Vietnam-US relations during his meetings with US partners from the US Chamber of Commerce (USCC) and the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), alongside Senator Patrick Leahy and a number of US friends, from May 31 to June 5.

At the meetings, the Vietnamese diplomat shared his assessments of the significance of the development of the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership across various spheres, as well as the success of the regular high-level visits between the two sides over the past three years.

He extended his thanks to Senator Patrick Leahy and the US friends for their valuable contributions to accelerating the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership in a vigorous fashion.

Vinh’s talks with USABC and USCC attracted the participation of many leading US groups and companies that are currently investing in Vietnam. Among the attendants were USABC President Alex Feldman; USCC senior director for Asia John Goyer; ambassadors and representatives of the ASEAN member nations; Mark Calabria, Assistant to the Vice President; Josh Cartin, Director for Asian Economic Security - ‎National Security Council; Karl Ehlers, US Trade Representative Acting Assistant; and Diane Farrell, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia at the US Department of Commerce; among others.

On the occasion, USABC and USCC organised a farewell party in honour of Ambassador Vinh’s efforts during his past tenure, voicing their belief that the relations between the two countries would continue to thrive in the future.
