Solidarity, cooperation and collaboration at global and regional levels is of great importance, the PM noted, adding that combating the epidemic should be done alongside facilitating trade and investment cooperation, maintaining supply and production chains, creating jobs and stabilizing people's lives.

Affirming Vietnam's commitment to combating the COVID-19 outbreak, PM Phuc stressed that Vietnam is keen to realize its dual goal of bringing the epidemic under control and continuing economic development, ensuring social security.

As Chairman of ASEAN 2020, Vietnam has been working closely with other ASEAN countries to combat the epidemic by taking joint actions as well as drastic containment measures, while sharing information and experience with many of the G20 countries and partners.

At the summit, the Vietnamese government leader also acknowledged the important role and active contributions by G20 as well as international organizations such as the United Nations, World Health Organisation, World Bank, International Monetary Fund and World Trade Organisation, to the fight against the COVID-19.

The summit adopted the G20 Joint Statement, showing the countries’ political determination, strong commitment and solidarity in COVID-19 prevention, as well as in promoting global economic development in a sustainable, inclusive manner.
