The two state leaders expressed pleasure at fine developments in the bilateral relations in various areas, contributing to national interests of each country as well as to regional peace, stability, cooperation and development. The two sides agreed to expand bilateral ties and people exchanges.
President Quang noted that Japan is always a top and long-term partner of Vietnam, and that Vietnam wants to deepen the Strategic Partnership with Japan.
On behalf of the Vietnam’s Communist Party and State, Mr. Quang officially invited the Japanese Emperor and Empress to visit Vietnam in early 2017. The Vietnamese leader underscored the importance of the visit, saying that it will become a symbol of and mark a new milestone in Vietnam-Japan cooperation and friendship.
Vietnam will collaborate closely with Japan to well organize the visit.
Mr. Quang urged Japan to enhance cooperation with Vietnam in infrastructure, agriculture, climate change and environmental accidents.
Japanese PM Shinzo Abe expressed his delight at the first-ever meeting with the Vietnamese President. He affirmed that Japan wants to expand multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.
He also spoke highly of the close coordination between the two nations at multilateral forums, confirming that Japan always advocates and actively supports Vietnam to host the APEC Year 2017.
The two senior leaders took the opportunity to discuss international issues of mutual concern, including the South China Sea (East Sea) issue. The two sides agreed that all disputes must be settled on the basis of international law, including the 1982 UNCLOS, contributing to better preserving peace, stability in the region and world.Phạm Khải
