Year-end NA session set to open on October 23

The 4th session of the 14th legislature is set to begin on October 23,General Secretary and Head of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc said at a press conference on October 20 in Hanoi.

The NA will adopt 6 draft laws, 12 draft resolutions, and dilate on 9 others, including the draft Law on Denunciations, the Anti-corruption Law, the Law on Planning, and the Law on Special Administrative-Economic Units, among others.

The 4th session of the 14th legislature is set to begin on October 23,General Secretary and Head of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc said at a press conference on October 20 in Hanoi.

The law-making body will increase the time for Q&A session from two and a half days to 3 days, while 10 of the total 26 days of debates will be broadcast live, Phuc said.

“More debates will be broadcast live during the session. Discussions on state budget, its allocation, and the use of tax will be broadcast live for the first time, thus helping the public supervise how effectively the legislative body and government have allocated and used the State budget. Reports on judicial work, anti-corruption efforts, and settlement of public complaints and denunciations will be also tabled for discussion," he noted.

NA deputies will mull over government reports on socio-economic development and the State budget for this year, as well as plans for next year.

As planned, 11 out of 26 days of work on 13 major contents will be televised throughout the nation.
