All of the first vaccinated police officers work at immigration desks of the Immigration Management Office and the Police Station of Ha Dong district so they meet a lot of immigrants every day, including those from COVID-19 hit countries.

Earlier, thanks to the support from the Government and the Ministry of Health, the Vietnam Vaccine JSC (VNVC) was able to buy some 30 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.  Under the plan, the amount of vaccines will be imported in several stages. After the first import batch of 117,600 doses of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the country, the people with high risks in 13 provinces and centrally-run cities will be injected.

The Public Security Forces have received some 10,000 doses and has planned to first give injections to public security officers and soldiers working on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic.

So far, 13 vulnerable provinces and cities have received the vaccine. Accordingly, the police of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City received 1,800 doses and Hai Duong got 900.

The Hanoi police’s hospital has deployed all of its staff and means to carry out the vaccination, according to its director. According to him, medical workers will make calls to all vaccinated officers and soldiers to inquire after their health after they go vaccine shots.

Earlier, 56 medical staff of the hospital were injected with the vaccine and had shown no abnormality. They will soon be given the second jab.
