73rd National Conference of Public Security Forces closes with success

PSNews – “The entire Public Security Forces should improve the effectiveness of working measures while leaders of units should heighten sense of responsibility," said Minister To Lam, at the closing ceremony of the 73rd National Conference of Public Security Forces on January 16.

In his closing remarks at the 73th National Conference of Public Security Forces, on behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security recognized and highly appreciated the working results of all Central-level public security units and local police force in 2017.

According to him, every public security officer and soldier can be proud of the forces’ great results, which has contributed significantly to the country's overall achievements; these results will create a strong momentum and confidence for the forces to successfully fulfill their assignments in 2018 and the following years.

General Lam emphasized that the Public Security Forces should regularly grasp and deeply study situational developments, and make good predictions of the situation to prepare for any eventualities regarding national security, criminal activities, acts and plots of hostile and reactionary forces.

In particular, he pointed out three key tasks in 2018, which the whole forces should focus on, including: building strong, proactive and elite public security forces; effectively implementing the central assignments of 2018; and raising the effectiveness of working measures while strongly attaching the responsibility of leaders to their units.

He instructed all public security agencies and units to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the directions given by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security during the conference. Besides, for a safe and happy lunar New Year festival, the forces should increase attacks on crimes while ensuring traffic safety and preventing fire and explosions at public places.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam noted that leaders of local police units should pay attention to improving material and spiritual lives of all officers and soldiers, visit former leaders and officers as well as revolution contributors and needy families.

On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam launched the movement “For the Fatherland’s Security 2018” and called on all public security officers to uphold the revolutionary spirit and promote unity to overcome all difficulties and challenges in 2018.
