Since its inception in 2005, this program has organized 47 training courses for about 900 law enforcement officers, contributing to enhancing cooperation among law enforcement forces of countries in Asia-Pacific region.
During ARLEMP 48 lasting until April 5, 21 participating police officers from 16 countries will be trained mainly in counter-terrorism investigation. They will also participate in extracurricular activities such as visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, exchanging experience with guests from Vietnam Ministry of Public Security, joining a BBQ for ARLEMP alumni at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi.
At the opening ceremony, Colonel Le Duc Tuyen emphasized that terrorism is expanding on a global scale, threatening peace and security in regions, including Southeast Asia. He called for more effective regional cooperation in counter-terrorism, and believed ARLEMP 48 themed “Counter-terrorism investigation” is a great platform for regional police officers to meet and share their skills and experience in the work.
