ASEANAPOL’s members share experience in IT application to fight crime

PSNews - The 36th ASEANAPOL Database System Technical Committee (ADSTC 36) Meeting officially opened in Hanoi on June 11 with the participation of about 30 delegates representing the police forces of ASEANAPOL member countries and the ASEANAPOL Secretariat.

The 36th ASEANAPOL Database System Technical Committee (ADSTC 36) Meeting officially opened in Hanoi on June 11 with the participation of about 30 delegates representing the police forces of ASEANAPOL member countries and the ASEANAPOL Secretariat.

ADSTC 36, lasting for 2 days, aims to discuss the exploitation and use of the ASEANAPOL Database System, evaluate the effectiveness of the system, and propose solutions to issues arising from the use of the system.

Notably, this has been the first meeting of the Technical Committee since the ASEANAPOL Database System version 2.0 was put into operation.

Senior Colonel Le Duc Tuyen, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Police Investigation Agency of the Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security said the release of the ASEANAPOL Database System version 2.0 has marked a milestone in the cooperation in crime prevention and control of the ASEANAPOL member police forces, helping them catch up with advancements of science and technology.

At the meeting, the delegates also discussed and shared updates and experiences in information technology application in preventing and fighting crimes.

In 2019, Vietnam assumes the role of presidency of the ASEANAPOL (ASEAN Chiefs of National Police) and hosts all of the association's activities
