Bac Lieu police reviews scheme on posting professional officers to communes

PSNews - The Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department on April 12 held a conference to review the scheme on pasting professional police officers to communes. Major General Le Tan Toi, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended the event.

Recognizing the importance of Scheme 106 of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on streamlining the organizational apparatus of public security agencies and units at all levels, the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department posted professional police officers to all communes in the province.

During the scheme, the provincial police leaders led a number of delegations to work with the local authorities on the posting of professional officers to communes. By March 2021, 300 officers had been posted to all communes and townships in the province.

The provincial police also regularly opened training courses to build capacity of the communal police force while investing in facilities and supporting tools for local communal police posts.

After 2 years of implementing the scheme, the provincial public order and security situation has seen positive developments. Over the past years, the communal police have settled 190 cases of conflict among local people, arrested 167 wanted fugitives and seized many illegal weapons, explosives and combat gears.

Mr. Pham Van Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province awards Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to officers and subunits with typical achievements.

The communal police force has also played a key role in building the “All people protect national security” movement in their locality.

Addressing the conference, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi asked the Bac Lieu province police to continue following instructions of the MPS on building the communal police force by selecting qualified officers and soldiers for communal police posts.

Regarding their missions in the coming time, the deputy minister requested that the Bac Lieu province police should regularly open training courses for communal police officers to enhance their professional skills.

He also emphasized that the MPS will continue directing relevant professional agencies to create favorable conditions for the provincial police to complete the scheme in the province.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Bac Lieu People’s Committee and the Director of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department awarded Certificates of Merit to officers and subunits with typical achievements in implementing Scheme No.01.

*Previously, on the occasion of the Khmer traditional New Year 2021 (Chol Chnam Thmay), Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi and the working delegation visited and extended New Year greetings to monks and followers at Dia Muong pagoda (in Phuoc Long district) and Siam Can pagoda (in Bac Lieu city) as well as presented gifts to policy beneficiary families in Bac Lieu city.
