PSNews - The Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes on March 9 in collaboration with the Binh Duong Provincial People Committee and Police Department launched a campaign aiming at raising the public awareness of drug harms.

The Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes, which is also the Standing Office of the Central Steering Committee for the movement "All people unite in building a cultural life", said the campaign aims at mobilizing all people to prevent and fight drugs in line with the implementation of the movement "All people unite in building a cultural life".

Colonel Ngo Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes said, drug abuse is still a painful social problem, leaving heavy consequences to health, economy and personality of addicts and their families as well as to security and safety of the whole society.

The police officer also pointed out some drug types and their harmful effects, saying that drug prevention among children and student is one of the most important tasks of the anti-drug force in particular and the whole society in general.

According to Colonel Ngo Thanh Binh, the drug prevention and control work throughout the country has always received special attention from the Party, State and the Government, as well as strong support from authorities at all levels and people. Nevertheless, the current drug crime situation still remains complicated.

In recent times, the police force has discovered and handled many big drug cases with tons of drugs seized and dozens of suspects arrested. Therefore, he stressed the need to mobilize all people to fight and prevent drugs.
