CAND Newspaper actively fulfills assigned political tasks

Colonel Pham Quang Khai, Vice Editor in Chief of the Public Security (CAND) Newspaper reported the delegates on the tasks performance of the unit in 2017 and the working program in 2018.

In 2017, the Party Committee and Editorial Board of the CAND Newspaper led its subordinate agencies and units to successfully and comprehensively fulfilled the newspaper’s assigned tasks. The CAND Newspaper has issued special publications on the National Reunification Day (April 30), Tradition Day of the People's Police Force (July 20), Traditional Day of the Viet Nam's People Public Security Forces (August 19) and CAND Newspaper's 71th founding anniversary.

Through the year, the newspaper focused on spreading good models and outstanding organizations and individuals in the emulation movement " For Fatherland’s Security" and the movement "All people protecting national security" as well as fighting false allegations, distorted information made by hostile forces, part of their "peaceful evolution" strategy; disseminating Resolutions No. 4, No.5, No.6 of the 12th Party Central Committee on Party building and Directive No.5 of the Politburo on enhancing the movement “Studying and following thought, morals, working style of President Ho Chi Minh.”

With such outstanding achievements in the movement "For Fatherland’s Security" in 2017, the CAND Newspaper was awarded the Emulation Flag of “Excellent Unit” by the Ministry of Public Security; the Editing Division was awarded an “Emulation Flag” by the General Department of Politics, and the Audience Development Division received the title of "Determined to Win Unit"; 11 comrades were awarded the title of "Excellent Soldier" at the grassroots level.

In 2018, following the slogan "Be proactive, initiative, disciplined, responsible and effective", the CAND Newspaper will focus on  ideological education, building a clean and strong Party organization and united unit. The newspaper also aims to make a drastic change in awareness and action of all officials, reporters and editors of attitude toward work and working styles in 2018 and the following years.

Major General Mai Van Ha showed his agreement to the report saying that in 2017, CAND Newspaper successfully completed its working program and assigned political tasks.

The Deputy General Director also urged the newspaper in 2018 to focus on disseminating results of the implementation of resolutions and directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Ministry of Public Security; implementing the Resolution of the 73rd National Conference of Public Security Forces on protecting political security and social order and safety; and attaching the building of the public security forces to the implementation of the 12th Party Central Committee's Resolutions.

At the conference, Major General Pham Van Mien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of the CAND Newspaper also briefed all officials, journalists, editors and staffs of CAND Newspaper on the results of the 73rd National Conference of Public Security Forces, the 2018 working program of the General Department of Politics under Ministry of Public Security and launched the movement "For Fatherland’s Security" in 2018.
