Lieutenant Colonel Vi Phan Canh of the Tay ethnic minority is currently working at the Quang Uyen District Police, Cao Bang Province as a deputy lead of the local working group in charge of building movements and maintaining local security and order. During 30 years of his career, he mostly worked in various remote villages in Hanh Phuc and Hoang Hai communes.
Canh and his family are facing many difficulties. His four-member family, including his aged ill mother, is in a rudimentary house. Highway 3 passing by his house in Quang Uyen town has just been upgraded, making the house's ground one meter lower than the road. His family wished to have a new firm house.

In order to help Lieutenant Colonel Vi Phan Canh build a new house, the Motorola Foundation Fund of Motorola Solutions Company donated 50 million VND to Canh’s family. On August 26, representatives of the Cao Bang Provincial Police along with CAND Newspapers presented the money to Canh.
Captain Nong Dai Nghia of the Tay ethnic minority is facing the similar situation. He is an officer of the Mobile Police Unit of the Cao Bang Provincial Police. He has worked for 17 years at the public security forces. His family is residing in Thach An district which is far away from his workplace. So he had to rent a house near his office.
After many years of saving, he and his wife finally had enough money to buy a small piece of land in Tan An area, Tan Giang ward, Cao Bang city. However, he could not afford to build a new house as he did not have any money while he had to support his family with 2 kids and an unemployed wife.
Knowing his family's difficulties, CAND Newspaper and Motorola Solutions Company presented 50 million VND to Nghia's family, helping him build a new house.
Providing financial support for needy policemen to build their homes is a good gesture that Motorola Solutions and CAND Newspaper have been joining hands for many years. Such practical assistance has also helped police officers and soldiers to complete their tasks, contributing to maintaining security and order, and preserving a peaceful life for people.
