Outcomes of camera monitoring system in Hanoi highlighted

PSNews – The images from camera monitoring systems have helped the Dong Da District Police successfully investigate more than 70 criminal cases, including a serious murder case happening at AKAI Karaoke at 295 De La Thanh street, O Cho Dua ward on August 27, 2016.

The camera monitoring systems also helped the police force in discovering a theft of property worth up to 100 million VND at Lang street.

The above information was reported by by the Dong Da District Police at a conference, held by the Hanoi Municipal Police to review the implementation of Plan No.02 No. 02 / KH-CAĐD-QLHC dated November 24, 2015 on mobilizing people to install security cameras to fight crimes in the district.

 According to Deputy Head of the Dong Da District Police, after 1 year implementing the plan, all 21 wards of the district have installed security cameras at their headquarters, of which 17 units have their camera systems connected directly to the district police office’.

When the local police informed local people of the plan, many households, agencies and units in Dong Da district voluntarily shared their own cameras’ data, helping local police forces  better manage the local security situation as well as prevent and fight crimes in the area.

As a result, the rate of crime in Dong Da district has been significantly reduced.

In addition, the Dong Da District Police has also deployed a number of monitoring cameras at its public services offices to monitor police officers’ attitude and behavior when working with people.
