Canoe carries 6 police officers capsizes during rescue mission

PSNews - On returning from a rescue mission in flooded areas, the canoe carrying 6 officers and soldiers was suddenly capsized by swift flowing water currents.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Ngoc, Chief of the Krong Bong District Police, Dak Lak province, said at 5 pm on November 5, a task force team of the district police was returning from their rescue mission in  flooded areas, their canoe then unfortunately was capsized, and 6 police officers on board were swept away.

According to Sen. Col. Ngoc, they were Major Nguyen Cong Trieu (canoe driver ), Senior Lieutenant Bui Dong Phong, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hai, Lieutenant Vu Dinh Tung, Corporal Bui Bao Kha, Sergeant Major Pham Vu Bao and Lieutenant Trinh Ngoc Thanh.

Police officers and soldiers on the way to rescue people 

On November 6th, a mission of the Krong Bong District Police, Dak Lak province leaded by Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Ngoc, Chief of the district police visited two ship owners that saved the 6 rescue police officers and soldiers in trouble on November 5th.

At the visit, on behalf of Krong Bong district police leaders, Sen. Col. Ngoc extended his warmest thanks to two boat owners as well as other people, who were not afraid of the dangerous situation, actively mobilizing vehicles to rescue the 6 officers and soldiers.

Senior Colonel Ngoc said the units also sent reports to the district and provincial People's Committees to reward the people on time.
