Danang police praised for good task performance

The Danang Municipal Police on July 3 held a conference to review its task performance in the first 6 months of 2018 and to roll out a new working plan for the last half part of the year. The event was attended by Chairman of the Danang Municipal People Committee Huynh Duc Tho.

At the conference, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Chinh, Deputy Director of the Danang Municipal Police briefed delegates on the unit’s task performance in the first half of 2018, saying that the Danang police have increase measures to fight crime, ensuring order and security in the area.

According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Chinh, during the 6 months, the Danang police investigated 198 criminal cases, arrested 297 offenders of all kinds and resolved 100% serious criminal cases. The local police also discovered 200 illegal gambling cases and caught red-handed 819 suspects arrested 123 suspects in 91 drug-related cases, handled nearly 1,400 drug addicts, prosecuted 9 economic cases with 11 offenders, and caught 35 most wanted fugitives…

Danang police also took synchronous and drastic approaches to maintain local traffic order, for instance: improving people's awareness of traffic safety, gave the city’s leader and the transportation sector good ideas to overcome the inadequacies of the local transport infrastructure system, contributing to improving traffic convenience and safety for the people and reducing traffic accidents in all three categories: number of accidents, number of deaths and number of injuries, said the Deputy Director of the Danang Municipal Police.

The city’s traffic police force in close collaboration with the Department of Traffic Police (Ministry of Public Security) convoyed all delegates participating in the 6th Global Environment Facility (GEF) well and safely, as well as ensure good security and safety for the recent Danang International Fireworks Festival 2018 and other international events in the city

Especially, thanks to the good work in well grasping the situation, the city’s police had successfully prevented bad elements from inciting people to illegally gather in crowds to undermine the city’s security and order as well as peaceful life of the people.

Besides, the movement of “All people protecting National security” has brought about various glorious results, contributing to controlling crimes of all types.

In the coming time, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Chinh said that the Danang police force will continue to set its key task is to continue efforts in maintaining absolute political security, social order and safety, contributing to building the a better Danang in accordance with the aspirations of the city’s Party committee and people.
