Defrauded money returned to flood-hit family in Dak Nong

The provincial police of Dak Nong in coordination with local authorities on November 10 visited a flood-hit family of Le Thi Thu Thao in Nam Tien village, Nam Nung commune, K’rong No district, who lost a member in the landslide at the Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant.

Representatives from the provincial police handed the defrauded sum of 100 million VND to Thao's family.
The also expressed sympathy for their loss and encouraged them to overcome all difficulties to recover their normal life.
Earlier, the provincial police in coordination with functional forces had arrested a man who had been suspected of tricking Thao out of her 100 million VND of aid from benefactors as her family had suffered a huge loss in flooding and landslide. The man was Nguyen Van Phuc, 23, resident of Duy Son commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam.
Phuc also confessed that he had appropriated a large amount of money from many people across the country.
