Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung works with Police Department of Fire and Rescue

Major General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on May 21 had a meeting with the Police Department of Fire and Rescue (PDFR).

At the meeting, Major General Nguyen Tuan Anh, Director of the PDFR, briefed the Deputy Minister on the task performance of the department over the past time.

 According to him, the unit has developed many legal documents on fire prevention and fighting and rescue in line with guidelines and instructions of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security’s leaders.

The PDFR instructed the local police agencies to inspect fire safety at high-rise buildings as well as facilities of the People's Public Security Forces. They also implemented a campaign to mobilize all people to surrender illegally-stored weapons, explosives, and combat gears to authorities in accordance with the working plan of the Ministry of Public Security.

The department actively coordinated with the functional units of the Ministry of Education and Training to instruct fire safety and rescue skills to students of all educational levels. Additionally, they organized seminars on application of quick-started fire alarm systems and digital database for management of fire safety and rescue.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung spoke highly of the PDFR’s efforts over the past time.

Regarding its key tasks in the future, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung requested the PDFR to guide its subunits to successfully organize their Party Congresses while further investing in fire prevention and fighting equipment and systems, meeting the requirements for their tasks in the current situation.

They should also develop inter-regional coordination plans in response to possible major fires or serious fires as well as promote administrative reforms, expand international cooperation, and apply scientific advances in fire prevention and fighting.
