Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong praises police units for destroying cyber-fraud ring

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security on June 29 sent a letter praising the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes and the Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police Department for successfully destroying an online fraudulent ring.

Thua Thien - Hue provincial police arrested three people involved in the case.

According to the letter, on June 19, the Thua Thien - Hue provincial police, in coordination with the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes, deployed their forces to raid an online fraudulent ring. The ring have reportedly deceived 400 people and appropriated VND 115.5 billion.

The police also arrested three people involved and seized two computers, an audio fine-tuning system, 10 bank cards and many other exhibits.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Le QuyVuong praised the achievements of the police units.

He asked the ThuaThien - Hue Provincial Police Department to coordinate with other concernedpolice units and agencies to expand the investigation into the case as well as collectmore evidence andsoon prosecutethe suspects in accordance withthe laws.

They should also coordinate with press and media agencies topopularize the information about the case as well as tricks of online frauds in order to raise people's vigilance against hi-tech crimes.
