Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong receives Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam

PSNews - The two sides should promote the organization of the 1st meeting on crime prevention and consider negotiating and signing deals on criminal extradition, convict transfer and human trafficking prevention. 

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security received Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Mohd Zamruni Bin Khalid on June 22, in Hanoi. 

At the reception, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong emphasized that Vietnam and Malaysia are members of many multilateral treaties on crime prevention. Therefore, over the past years, the cooperation of the two countries in preventing transnational crimes has earned many positive results.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong urged public security forces of Vietnam and Malaysia to continuously maintain consultancy, cooperation and mutual support at international and regional forums on crime prevention.

The two sides should promote the organization of the 1st meeting on crime prevention and consider negotiating and signing deals on criminal extradition, convict transfer and human trafficking prevention.

Additionally, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong hoped that Vietnam and Malaysia should set up a hotline with the aim of exchanging crime situations and launching joint campaigns against crimes.

Thanking Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong for warm reception, Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Mohd Zamruni Bin Khalid spoke highly of fine results of the bilateral cooperation on crime prevention and fighting within the framework of the agreement on transnational crime prevention signed in 2015 between the two governments.

Ambassador Mohd Zamruni Bin Khalid wished that, in the coming times, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Malaysian law enforcement agencies will effectively accelerate collaboration in preventing and controlling crimes, especially transnational and organized crimes, cybercrimes, human trafficking and drug crimes.
