Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi works with Hai Phong Police

Major General Le Tan Toi, Deputy Minister of Public Security (MPS), leading a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, had a meeting with the Hai Phong Municipal Police Department  on September 11.

Major General Vu Thanh Chuong, Director of the Hai Phong Municipal Police Department briefed the delegates on its work of ensuring security and social order over the past time, stating that the municipal police have implemented effectively campaigns against crimes, focusing on economic crime, drug-related crime and environmental crime.

Over the past eight months, 352 criminal cases have been detected and 792 suspects have been arrested. The clear-up rates for criminal cases and serious criminal cases reached 84% while 100% respectively.

In addition, the Hai Phong police have achieved good results in communication services, information technology, security guarding, and foreign relations while cooperating closely with relevant agencies to well control the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi asked the Hai Phong police to continue focusing on the “All peopleprotect national security” movementwhile effectively fighting against crime. 

It should also combine social prevention and professional prevention measures to control crime. Especially, they should focus on eradicating criminal gangs and always maintain a standing-force ready for all security scenarios.
