Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, leading a working delegation under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), on June 10 worked with the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department to review the two projects on national population database and chip-based ID card (e-ID card).

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc speaks at the meeting.

Over the past time, the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department has taken drastic and creative measures to successfully implement the two projects. The Department was recognized by the MPS as one of only two public security units in the country that had completed the 1st phase’s targets.

So far, the local officers and soldiers have issued over 1.1 million e-ID cards to local people, surpassing the set target, and finished the projects 45 days ahead of the deadline.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc spoke highly of the local police forces’ efforts and achievements in performing the two projects.

The Deputy Minister asked the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department to pay due attention to inspecting the procedures for data processing while strictly observing the regulations on data security and safety in performing the two projects.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc also requested the police of Nam Dinh province to attach importance to regularly training communal-level police officers in politics, ideology, laws, and professional skills.

They should also complete the 2nd phase of the two projects on schedule, so that people can benefit the projects on national population database and e-ID card as from July 1.
