According to reports delivered by leaders of the Yen Bai Provincial Police Department, over the first three months of 2020, the local police have successfully maintained political security, social order and safety in the province.

Particularly, the local police paid due attention to grasping the local situation and addressing complex security issues from the grassroots level in a timely and effective manner.
In addition, they launched various intensive campaigns to crack down on crimes while successfully investigating numerous criminal cases related to drugs, corruption, economy, and smuggling in the locality.
Amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 situation, the Yen Bai police have coordinated with relevant agencies to set up nine checkpoints on the gateways to the province with the aim of controlling all people and vehicles entering the province, contributing to preventing the virus from spreading in the local community.
In addition, the local police forces launched various intensive campaigns against crimes and violations of the laws on possession of weapons, explosives and combat gears. As a result, in 2019, they seized 253 combat gears, 349 guns, 51 grenades, and three bombs.
By March 12, the Yen Bai Provincial Police Department has also deployed 483 full-time police officers to all 160 communes and townships in the province.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc recognized and spoke highly of the achievements obtained by the local police officers and soldiers over the past time.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc suggested that, in the coming time, the Yen BaiProvincial Police Department should continue to follow directions from the higher-level authorities on COVID-19 prevention and control while upholding their vigilance against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Besides, they should further enhance measures to manage and control weapons, explosives and combat gears while promoting law dissemination and mobilizing people, organizations and agencies to surrender illegally stored weapons, explosives and combat gears to the authorities.
Furthermore, the local police should attach importance to strengtheningits communal-level police force while rendering more support to the newly-appointed police officers, helping them successfully fulfill their main tasks of ensuring public security and order in the locality.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc also urged the local police officers and soldiers to actively participate in blood donation movements in response to support Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong’s call and Minister To Lam’s letter, contributing to saving lives of patients at hospitals.
