Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son checks task performance of Hau Giang Police

PSNews - Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on August 23 worked with the Hau Giang Provincial Police Department.

According to a report delivered by a leader of the police department at the working session, the provincial police have launched various campaigns to suppress crimes in the first 8 months of 2019. As a result, the number of criminal offences reduced 4.2%, while the rate of successful investigations reached 88.2%. 

The provincial police force cracked down on 243 gambling cases and arrested 1,455 people involved, and caught or mobilized 32 wanted criminals to surrender themselves to the police.

The prevention and combat of economic, drug-related, environmental crimes and corruption also gained positive outcomes and there was no case of “black credit”. Meanwhile, the State management over security and order, as well as over weapons, explosives, and residence, was tightened.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Provincial Police Department of HauGiang.

He also asked the provincial police to focus on Party and Force building, enhance checks and inspections to quickly identify and handle all wrongdoings and shortcoming, and praise good deeds.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son also asked the Hau Giang Provincial Police Department to prevent serious cases, raise the rate of settlement of denunciations and reports on criminals and petitions for prosecution, contributing to ensuring order and safety, creating a peaceful environment for economic development.

The provincial police should also further promote the “All people protecting national security” movement; ensure logistics, technical services and financial sources for the local police force to perform both regular and unexpected tasks.
