Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son inspects Hanoi police’s effort to prevent COVID-19

A delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) headed by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control under the MPS on May 5 worked with the   Hanoi Municipal Police Department on prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.

According to reports delivered by leaders of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department, over the past time, the city’s police have directed its lower-level units to effectively prevent illegal immigration in an effort to prevent the pandemic while launching campaigns against crimes of all kinds.  

The Municipal Police Department also attached great importance to managing and supervising all foreign visitors to Vietnam and Vietnamese citizens returning home from abroad in an effort to prevent the spread of the disease in the community.

In addition, the municipal police department also directed the municipal traffic and social order police forces to increase patrol on key routes as well as at train stations and bus stops.

Specially, all the city's police officers and soldiers were asked to protect themselves from the COVID-19 pandemic while being ready to deal with arising situations.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son hailed the efforts of the city’s policein preventing the pandemic. In the coming time, the MPS leader asked the Hanoi Municipal Police Department to promptly implement drastic preventive measures against the pandemic following the upper levels’ directions.

At the same time, the Hanoi police forces should continue to promote the dissemination of informationabout the pandemic so as to raise the public awareness of pandemic prevention.

Finally, the deputy minister requested the city's police to ensure security and order for the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2021-2026 term.
