Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son works with police department for management of prison

According to a report on the inspection results delivered at the meeting by Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Nguyen, Deputy Chief of Ministry of Public Security’s Ministerial Office and member of the Inspection Team, since the beginning of 2019, under the leadership of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, the police sector in charge of managing prisons, compulsory re-education centers and reformatories has made efforts to overcome all difficulties and achieve important results in all aspects of work. 

Particularly, the police sector maintained a stable security and safety situation at prisons, compulsory re-education centers and reformatories, avoiding any disturbance cases and prison-breaks. 

The education of inmates and internees has been gradually renovated towards efficiency while difficulties in finance, logistics, equipment, healthcare and environmental protection have been effectively solved, contributing to the sector’s accomplishment of the assigned tasks.

At the meeting, members of the inspection team also discussed shortcomings and limitations in the management of prisons, compulsory re-education centers and reformatories as well as gave directions for the work in the coming time.

To conclude the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son recognized and praised the achievements obtained by the Police Department for Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son urged the whole sector to effectively gave re-education and vocational training to detainees while implementing policies for them in compliance with the laws and social practices and creating a safe and humane educational environment and favorable conditions for inmates and internees to serve their sentences better and soon return to the community.
